Tourist Season by Brenda Novak

lighthearted mysterious reflective medium-paced

4.25

I love how Brenda talks about exploring a little bit more of a darker scene in this one, with a hurricane like storm at this island off the coast of Cape Cod. It’s fun to return back to Mariner Island (the location of her book The Seaside Library (which also included a mysterious death from the past).

TOURIST SEASON finds Ismay escaping to Mariners Island after a tough season finishing her law degree. Her fiancé is supposed to join her after he finishes studying for his medical board tests at his family’s summer home. The first night there is a terrible storm and Bo, the handsome and mysterious caretaker comes to her rescue. When her fiancé’s twin brother shows up and makes her life less fun, she begins to question her own relationship.

I enjoyed reading this one - it was a fun, summer mystery.
