Am I Normal Yet? by Holly Bourne

5.0

Highly recommended!!

So much is lost when you lose yourself. Not just your pride, or your hope. But worse things, things that affect others. Like your ability to help them when they need you, to notice when they’re hurting. You’re too wrapped up in your own hurt, your own mess.

It is not everyday that I go about urging all of my friends (incl those who don't really read) to read something I enjoyed reading. Because everyone's tastes are not the same and all that. But [b:Am I Normal Yet?|23592235|Am I Normal Yet? (The Spinster Club, #1)|Holly Bourne|https://d2arxad8u2l0g7.cloudfront.net/books/1429354198s/23592235.jpg|43194852] is such an incredible book, I can't imagine anyone not liking it! It is completely deserving of every single one of those five stars. It touches upon feminism and mental illness in an incredibly profound way. The messages are powerful, but the story tying everything together is beautiful and charmingly hilarious as well. Amber, Lottie and Evie are friends I would love to have! Our world needs more people like them. People who empower each other.

I'm recommending this book to everyone - and not just to women; because feminism is for everyone. Feminism empowers everyone. [a:Holly Bourne|6561227|Holly Bourne|https://d2arxad8u2l0g7.cloudfront.net/authors/1365526643p2/6561227.jpg] is incredible and we need more authors, more people, who think like she does. If you haven't read this book yet, go read it asap! You're really missing out.
