Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino

I feel like I could read the book many more times and continue to get more out of it. Each chapter is mostly self-contained and extremely short: something you could read in a few minutes. Each touches on some philosophical concept or interesting idea or what-if. Then there are interludes where Kublai and Polo talk and things get meta. It's up to the reader to exactly define the plot/setting.
