Did not finish book. Stopped at 64%.
It was just very slow toward the middle. I started to grow attached to the characters but the progression of the plot didn’t keep me coming back to read more day after day. Finally broke and looked up spoilers. I’m a sucker for happy endings and optimistic stories, and let’s just say my findings left me comfortable with not continuing with the series. Seems like a great read, just for someone else!

Picked it back up a few days after my initial DNF because I kept thinking about the characters. I almost pushed through to the end and I even bought the second book because the middle really gripped me again. But I just never feel compelled to pick this up, so I think that’s it for me and this series.
