2 Fights
by Nikki Castle
"In this moment, I decide I'll give this girl whatever the fuck she wants: my body, my heart, the moon, the stars, anything. It's hers."
I can see why people love Nikki's books, and I wanted to love 2 Fights because, just like 5 Rounds, it had so much potential. Unfortunately, throughout this book, there was also so much unnecessary repetitiveness, so I did skim through the story.
I loved Remy and Tristan more in this book than I did in 5 Rounds. I just connected more with their characters in the snippets of them shown throughout Hailey and Jax’s story instead of in their book.
I like how Nikki used the FMC Hailey to raise awareness about domestic violence and help people to understand what it is like to be in a situation like that, which she portrayed very well throughout the book.
I had a love-hate relationship when it came to the MMC Jax. I could see he had good intentions, but I felt like he made Hailey too reliant upon him and when others pointed this out to him, he became defensive. By the time he finally realised what the others had been saying was true and he did something about it, I felt like he had passed the point of no return in my eyes.
While I did not love 2 Fights as much as I had hoped to, I liked reading Hailey’s story and getting to see her overcome everything she went through and how she was able to heal and finally get her happily ever after (even though I did not like Jax in the end).
I look forward to giving Dani and Aiden’s story in 3 Count (the third book in the fight game series) a go.
