The Archived
by V.E. Schwab
The characters are always so full of life in Schwab's books.
Mackenzie read as a very mature fifteen year old but given her history - ahem - I think this is believable. There were moments when she showed a youthfulness which added to her personality.
The story itself was beautiful and wonderfully presented. It feels like these ideas come so easily from Schwab and are written in such a way that you don't question this new idea of life and of doorways to The Narrows.
I would have enjoyed it if it had been longer and more in depth with some of the other characters but regardless, it was perfect as it was anyway.
