Song of the Six Realms by Judy I. Lin

5.0

I loved reading Song of the Six Realms. One thing about Judy I. Lin's books is that her prose is always so beautiful and so ethereal. Her writing is so atmospheric, it is very easy to slip into her stories, which are always such a magical experience. I love cdramas, especially xianxia, so I loved the world building. The setting is extremely beautiful and magical. I also loved Xue's character. The inclusion of poetry in the scenes where Xue plays the qin made them so beautiful. I am a huge fan of the interludes, I love the tragic vibe of the myths. I definitely recommend listening to the soundtrack of a cdrama while reading this book. I also loved how every chapter ends on such an intriguing note, while I wouldn't call this a fast paced read, there is enough mystery and thrill to propel you through the book. I was constantly turning the pages, eager for the mystery to be uncovered and to find out what would happen next. This was such a beautiful read, very much in the way of how nature is beautiful, flowers and lakes and starry nights, while this book is set in a beautiful house, this makes me want to go out in nature.
