Did not finish book. Stopped at 40%.

I can’t do it. I love the premise. I love the Cinderella similarities. I love the chess rivals theme but gawd do I hate the main female character. I probably shouldn’t read things written about teenagers but the girl could not read a simple situation despite it being written down in front of her face. I think she’s supposed to be quirky but it just comes off as ignorance due to unwillingness to see past her own nose. Idk if that makes any sense - it’s the middle of the night and this book was supposed to go on my bingo card and now I have to find another rivals to lovers book. Ugh. I’ll still read Ali’s books tho! Love her! But I’ll stick to the adult romances. Youths!
