An Ice Cold Grave by Charlaine Harris

3.0

In general, I like Charlaine Harris books. I've read several in each of the series she writes...Aurora, Lily, Sookie, and this one, about Harper. Harper's brush with lightning left her able to find dead bodies, and her efforts to deal with the damage and try to use her ability is reminiscent of Lily deals with her own tragedy in the Shakespeare series.

This book in particular was pretty pedestrian. It's another book where the protagonist is called in to investigate and her efforts put her in danger herself. There's not a deeper look at a particular culture or a social issue. It's a very "paint by the numbers" kind of book. If you've read the other books in the series, you might be interested in the developing relationship between Harper and Tolliver, her "step-brother," but if you haven't, it won't matter.
