Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles

I loved this book the first time I read it, and still love it the many times after that. I love the battle between these characters as well as everything surrounding them as they try to navigate teenage life. The dynamics between the two sides of Fairfield show a very real divide between students when it comes to money and heritage. My school was never like that, but that doesn't mean this doesn't exist.

I love the cocky swagger that Alex shows the world, while letting Brittany see the softer side. The same goes for Brittany, at least for showing her softer side. I loved those moments with Shelley. I think the turning point for me was that moment when Alex played checkers with Shelley. I'm not sure what it was, but it seemed like that point in the story when everything shifted. From there it just got more real and a bit scary. This couple was definitely one I was rooting for because on the outside, it's like opposite attract. But when you look a little closer, it's almost too perfect to ignore.
