I enjoyed this and had fun reading it as I do with (almost all) Dixon books, especially those set on Not-Hoth. I did find this a bit boring at times, mainly when aidy was stuck in the cave with the metlaks and all the scenes taking place in that one cave, even when corvak would leave at times to hunt. I have always found the metlaks super interesting, and while I agree with dixon’s note about not wanting to use them for a while to make sure to keep them feeling fresh as a plot device for readers, I did kinda think we were never gonna get more lore about them. I rly hope that we will see more of Pinkie, as she was unfortunately abandoned by AD when she and corvak fled all of the metlaks. I would love an evolution of the metlaks, where they can communicate with the series characters, but that would probably take like a million more years irl.
