Home Sick Pilots, Vol. 1: Teenage Haunts
by Dan Watters
I picked this up after seeing some art by Caspar Wijngaard on twitter and falling in love with the colours he uses. I was not disappointed at all. This comic is beautiful. The colour palette is purples, pinks, reds, blues, really deep, rich colours. I love the character design and the Old James House design. I would rate the art on its own a full 5 stars.
The story itself was a little hard to follow the first time around, but upon rereading I felt like it was much better. I think some of the decisions a few of the characters make at different points in the story didn't make any sense but the overall plot is really interesting and I'm excited to see where this goes.
Overall I think this is a strong set up with the dip into the action at the end. I'd definitely recommend this and will be looking out for future volumes!
