Largo pétalo de mar by Isabel Allende

5.0

Go Allende! I clutched and hugged the story like a treasure. It's a book that makes you feel small, but in that reassuring way that your insignificance in the universe is meaningless anyway, awash in the forces of history beyond control. Meanwhile Allende's characters and scope are GIANT, swinging and stepping across continents, generations and dictatorships. Despite the vicissitudes of life perhaps we can find resilience and redemption in love and friendship. Am I right, Allende?
