The writing is lyrical. I personally like the references in this book—it’s a unique experience.

To be honest, it was quite difficult for me to follow the plot for the first 100 pages or so but once it started to click, I couldn’t stop reading.

I felt like I was hallucinating with Cadence, it felt so real. I shared her frustration and desperation at not being able to remember what really happened two summers ago. It was like being kept in a dark room for so long.

The only positive outcome of the accident is that the family finally reunites but at what cost?

I was bummed because I got spoiled even before I started reading. I looked up the book on Google, but thankfully not the entire plot twist was revealed.

I was expecting the heritance issue to be addressed properly between Carrie, Bess and Penny. Nonetheless, I’m quite satisfied with the ending.

That being said, I’m excited to watch the TV show; the first episode premieres today!
