bpaxton 's review for:
Purple Hibiscus
by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
emotional
informative
reflective
i feel like this book is a modern classic. the characters and story told in this novel is powerful and layered. i have never been to Nigeria and yet i felt i was there.
this novel examines all the complexities of one teenage girl's life including colonianism, religion, education, abuse, manipulation, patriarchy and puberty.
i will remember these characters who felt so real for a very long time and their stories will stick with me.
