Boy Meets Boy by David Levithan

4.0

Though the oddness of the high school was entertaining at times, I actually found it to be distracting to the story. I connect better to the characters when people act according to predictable patterns. That doesn't mean the setting cannot be fantastical, but the characters should be recognizable or I will not be able to understand or sympathize with the story.

That said, I still enjoyed this book and did connect with Paul and several of his friends. I also appreciate that a story like this can be told now and it not be a big deal. Levithan's books have become must reads for me now, much like John Green.
