A Brilliant Match by Jennie Goutet

4.0

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is the first book that I have read (technically, I listened to the audiobook!) by Jennie, and I am a fan. I love an enthralling Regency read.

I quickly fell in love with Miles's gentleness and kindness towards Dorothea. Their goals for marriage were so different. I love that Dorothea wrote Miles off from the beginning, but their chemistry was always there!

I love how Miles wanted to take care of his mom. She was living in a crumbling estate, and he wanted to marry a lady with a large dowry to fix up the estate and take care of his mom. I also loved Dorothea's relationships with her family, especially her sister.

Jennie did a great job of including historical accuracy, romance, and personal growth in this story.

Stevie Zimmerman did a great job narrating this story. Her voices were so good! One of the voices reminded me of Susannah Harker as Jane Bennett in the 1995 Pride and Prejudice TV mini-series.

I recommend this book!

*This is a clean closed-door Regency romance book.
