This Blood that Binds Us by S.L. Cokeley
3.0
3/5⭐️ Uhhhh yeah this book was interesting. This was marketed to me as the next twilight. It was apparently soooo similar and had all the same vibes and could fill that void. It really wasn’t tho unfortunately. Genuinely it was just an interesting time. This books writing was just not good i’m sorry to say, there was so much that wasn’t needed that I needed to skim cause otherwise I would’ve put it down. It needed multiple more rounds of edits. It wasn’t even like the plot and characters made up for the lack of writing skills because they didntttttt. Like the vampires were so weird, things moved way to quickly, she just accepted things way to quickly. I just wish Aaron was more interesting and Kim and Aaron had more of a story together. Also don’t be fooled there is barely any romance in this book. Like genuinely none until the last page. One of my biggest book pet peeves is when a first book in a series is just backstory for the next ones in the series. Just makes me feel like I wasted my time starting the series. I thought the vibes would be better. When it’s compared to twilight, I’m not expecting top literature but I am expecting interesting vampires and a plot that pulls you in from the first page. Twilight isn’t the best written book but it’s written 100x better than this book which is crazyyyy.
Just disappointment all around. Idk if i’ll continue here but at least I got it off my tbr.
