This is such a beautiful story; I loved the cultural aspect, especially learning about Caribbean foods & recipes, as well as the discourse about black cake and other 'colonizer foods.' I thought it was so beautifully woven, and the central familial story was interesting & mysterious while still being domestic. The one thing that I had a slight issue with was the representation of the 2 LGBTQ+ characters, especially because they were both women. I loved it tho!
