Good Bad Girl by Alice Feeney

4.0

This was the first Alice Feeney book I read, and since I didn't know her style, I was surprised and delighted by the plot twists and gave it five stars. Now that I've read two more of her novels, I'm dropping my rating to four stars.

I still feel this was the best of the three that I've read so far, but I can see that her female main characters are all kind of the same, and characteristics that are interesting in one character get annoying and trite with too much repetition. (As if these personality traits are not a choice the author is making for a specific character development, but rather just how she thinks women are.)

Now that I can see she uses the same characters, tropes and plot devices over and over, I think I'm probably done with Alice Feeney. Sad, because I was excited to find another author I thought I could enjoy for several novels. That said, if you are new to Alice Feeney, this is the one to read. (Avoid "I Know Who You Are." Blech!) If you've already read her other books, this is more of the same, although with slightly more compelling characters, IMO.
