Dragon Bones by Patricia Briggs

4.5 stars

A bit surprised that the protagonist in this series is a male when Briggs' main characters are usually female. Surprised, but not unhappy - it was a nice change. Ward is a great character and I found him to be extremely likeable.

I was also use to the urban setting of her previous novels, but Briggs' deft story telling is matched by great world building.

She's always been exceptional in writing characters, so it wasn't a stretch that I found myself quickly emotionally invested in not only Ward's plight, but the supporting characters as well.
