The 2nd book in the Cainsville series, and we pick back up a couple weeks after the first book ends.
One thing I LOVE about Armstrong’s books is she doesn’t spend an entire chapter rehashing the events of the prior book. She leaves just enough context and reminders of key plot points to allow the reader to piece together what happened.
There’s clear character development, and some major reveals - some you have guessed by this point and some are real “a-ha!” moments. And even with the reveals, we still have questions and there’s still room for characters to grow and the plot to unfold.
I am really looking forward to picking up book 3 when it becomes available from the library!
