Vicious Heir by Victoria Ellis

4.0

Vicious Heir begins before Ruthless Vows, and as the story progresses, you can see how the events of both books begin to slowly intertwine. I was obsessed with the first book in this series, Giana and Dante, but now that I've finished the second, I know I'll be thinking about Niccolo and Evelina for a much longer time! We first met Niccolo and Evelina in the previous book, but not much was revealed about either of them. Niccolo develops an obsession with Evelina, the owner of a bookstore and the mafia wife of people he considers to be his enemies, The De Santis. Niccolo and Evelina's story was just utterly captivating, filled to the brim with unexpected twists and turns and heartbreaking pasts. The author's ability to create such intriguing storylines in each book of the series has left me eagerly anticipating each new instalment. Now, about that cliffhanger? You're going to have to excuse me, but I'll need the next book tomorrow, please. And, based on a few sentences in this book, I'm hoping the next will be about Dom and Sofia. I can't wait to see where this overall story goes. Congratulations, Victoria, on yet another outstanding book!

"Sure, he may have a legal document stating their union, but what do I have? I have an unhealthy obsession that gnaws at my brain like it’s fucking fish food. I have an untamable voice telling me she is mine, she is mine, she is mine, and I think that overrules his little scrap of paper."
