The Appeal by John Grisham

3.0

"The Appeal" is the story of a court case in Mississippi where a company dumped waste that found its way into the drinking supply of a small town. Many of the people in that town got sick and some died.

The original court case is just the beginning. The bulk of the novel is what happens next, when the verdict is appealed and goes to the state supreme court. Special interests want to be sure that they win the appeal, so they try to buy a seat on the court.

This was a good story, but the end was anything but satisfying. It was also pretty obvious that Grisham had an agenda and it went a little overboard at times. Still, I couldn't wait to find out what happened next.

Listened to this as an audiobook.
