Of Neptune
by Anna Banks
While I liked this book, it was kind of disappointing. This book was unnecessary. There was no real purpose of this story. The only interesting thing about was Emma and Galen’s mating ceremony, which is why I rated 4 stars instead of 3.
Plot I was really excited to read this book, but was a little wary since I read some reviews. I loved seeing Emma and Galen’s relationship grow and mature. They finally got into a fight instead of it a totally unrealistic insta love. But the storyline was confusing. First there was Tyrone, then Kennedy, and then Reder’s plan, and then Emma and Reed’s please don’t romance. So yeah, lots going on. While Tyrden kind went with the main storyline of Jagen, it kind of made sense. But Kennedy came out of no where and was completely unnecessary. Honestly this series should have ended after the second book.
Characters
Emma- I don’t really have nothing against Emma. But I don’t really have nothing positive about her either. She was almost using Reed for the life she wanted to live. She didn’t see Reed as Reed she saw him as being accepted as a Half Breed and being able to live on land.
Galen- While I thought his concerns and wanting to live in the ocean was valid, he could have said it better. And then he was going to tell Grom about Neptune. Which was so not cool. But then he got better. He went to save Reed when he didn’t have to, and now he is negotiating peace between the kingdoms and Neptune.
Reed- I think everybody has iced feeling about him. I kind of liked him. I didn’t want him to be with Emma, but he was good friend material.
Nalia- She really got on my nerves. I know she wasn’t in this book as much as the others, but still. I know she’s Emma mom, but she treated Emma like a 5 year old who can’t take care of herself. She was still ordering her around and telling her what to do. Emma is an adult who is about to get married! I think she can make her own decisions.
