Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes by Eleanor Coerr

5.0

A kid's book for book club is a good change after a heavy, sad read about orphans.
Sadako was a baby when the atomic bomb went off in Japan, but she still feels the effects around her. After she gets sick, she resolves to get better by folding a thousand cranes and send her wish to the gods
It's a super fast read with a punch. The author does a good job using Sadakos experience to show the ripples from one decision for wrong and right.
Such a good read and promotion for kindness and dreams.
