This is a very quick read; I finished it over the course of a few hours with several periods of unavoidable household task-related pause. The story is presented by the narrator as a history. I found it very enjoyable and somewhat reminiscent of Nabakov’s Pale Fire though I cannot readily explain why — the narrator is significantly less present and the tone very different.
