Dash & Lily's Book of Dares
by Rachel Cohn, David Levithan
Watching the show a billion times I was honestly surprised that some exact quotes were in the show and I adore both versions. I realized a few chapters in this were taken in early 2010 which is somehow nostalgic for 18-year-old me. This book also made me visit The Strand Last minute and i was overjoyed as well as 30 bucks over my budget as I searched in a sweat for some copies of both English and Italian copies of 'The Divine Comedy' and as well as in awe as my sisters followed behind me and searched for cute tote bags. This book all the bookish teens out there for an unbelievable yet believable Christmas story in New York. I am not a local so don't take my word for it but it was lovely to revisit my memories from my actual NYC trip last summer It was one of the highlights of my life escaping my world. Lily was way too much like me in our similar childhoods and how we still believe we are not wanted other than family and somehow I ended up like Dash with my cynicism and defensiveness until I found my own Boomer. (who was the best character) I love this book, and I love this world. Yes I am hesitant to read the other 2 novels but I'm not afraid. Regards. Sam.
