I was interested in how these would feel compared to Harry Potter, but I didn’t see many similarities. I enjoyed this series in a superficial manner, not necessarily finding them of great depth and at times fairly slow. If you are in the mood for a detective novel with well-developed characters and very bizarre, inter-related crimes, these will work.
