God I just adore these characters so much. I don’t read much YA anymore cause it doesn’t really work for me but Tracy always knocks it out of the park. Reading this series is nostalgic in the best way.

This was a really great entry into the series but not quite 5 star material. The first half of the book was impeccable but a dragged a bit for me when we got to the heist stuff and were stuck in one POV. I’ll also be honest and say I didn’t like the memory loss plot. I think that Bree having to grapple with the emotions attached to her choice is just more compelling. I think that we could have figured out how to hit all the same plot beats while having Bree remember everyone. The Sel dad reveal also felt super out of left field. I think it can work but the build up didn’t quite feel there for me. It might have been alluded to in a scene with his mom’s POV and I just missed it. I think we could have remedied this problem by just giving Sel some POV chapters.

I definitely have some critiques but overall this was a really great entry into the series. I’m really excited to see what happens in the finale and as a Bree/Nick/Sel poly truther I think I’m gonna get what I want.
