It's eerie. It's terrifying. It explains why we left the ocean for a good reason and every time we go back it's a bad time. 
Seriously, though. Don't go looking for mermaids.

There is a scene where professional mermaids are in the sea and the killer mermaids attack. It's pretty gruesome, though described in an almost dry way so it doesn't feel like a Saw movie.
