Characters: Jimmy Carlson and Chloe

Chloe and her grandfather have been living in the wild for years, then time for them runs out for food, so they come down to try and get more supplies when they are shot at by a member of one of these gangs, unfortunately her grandfather is hit in the neck and dies instantly, luckily though a man named Jimmy shoots the bad guy and he takes her to his farm community and his family.

Chloe grew up with wealth, and after the asteroid, she was pretty sheltered by her grandfather, so when she gets to the farming community she wants to make a good impression and not to feel like a burden, or for her to get kicked out. She is pretty overwhelmed though and she struggles to keep up with the daily chores of living on a farm.

Jimmy is attracted to her and asks if she would come to live with him as his helper for his farm, and to also warm his bed.

She agrees to it, so she goes about being whatever she thinks Jimmy wants her to be.

I loved this book, you can see how they did like each other, but they didn’t know how to properly communicate with each other and it took them awhile to finally openly communicate and express their feelings
