A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess
5.0

Definitely worth the reread/listen! I've always enjoyed this book, mostly because of the Nadsat "language" that's used by Alex. Language intrigues me and so, in spite of the horror and violence, this book is always interesting. I do, however, find it easier to listen to the audio book (and let the language of Alex and his droogs wash over me) than I do to read it and struggle through the language (our feeble human minds are always trying to correct things).

This listening/reading was my first time enjoying the previously cut last chapter, though. I had no idea that the book (and also the movie of the same name) was butchered because of Americans... Ah well, it's all explained in the introduction and I find that the last chapter really does make the story all the more interesting, deep, and worthwhile. Shame on the publisher that decided it was a cop out! SHAME!

Specifically for the audiobook, Tom Hollander does a lovely job switching between manners of speech, and helping me to really fall into the book.
