I have no idea why it took me so long to read this book since I am a big Brown fan. I loved it. I love the Sandra Brown was able to make the jump from romance it thriller and keep you entertained. Barrie Travis is a reporter at a local, know nothing TV station. For some reason, the First Lady picks her for a private conversation about the miscarriage of the child she and the president fought so hard to have. But this scandal is bigger than Watergate, and Barrie just needs to get the right conversation. Enter Gray Bondurant, a former aid to the president. It has been rumored for a while that Gray and the First lady were closer than they should be, and all Barrie needs is for Gray to spill his side of the story. That is until she needs him to help save her life, because now that people know the story she is working on, her life expectancy has taken a nose dive. This was a fabulous read. You were kept entertained, and in suspense, and unable to stop turning pages. This is why I read Sandra Brown.
