This story about a white woman who steals her dead Asian-American friend's manuscript and publishes it as her own is one of the it-books of the year, and it definitely deserves the attention. It's such a smart rip on cultural appropriation, inequity in the publishing industry, and social media drama, all told from the point of view of a character you will hate, but won't be able to look away from. I think it's Kuang's best book yet.
