King of Scars
by Leigh Bardugo
I really enjoyed this. I did take a fairly long break in the middle of reading before picking it up again so that might have affected some of my enjoyment of it a bit. I love Leigh Bardugo's writing and her characters are fun and fleshed out and I really enjoy their dynamics with one another. It was also nice to be back in the Grishaverse. I did enjoy most of the POVs, there were just a handful by this character Issak that I did not have a good time with. His chapters were a bit of a slog for me to get through. I really liked what was going on with Nina and her bond with this Grisha she meets in Ferida. Also Nikolai's and Zoya's dynamic was a lot of fun to follow. There was a lot of interesting new things brought up in this that really added to the world. Looking forward to picking up book 2!
