This rating is subject to change with development of the story. I think through most of the book I enjoyed the characters and I liked the direction the story seemed to be going until... the last few chapters. Everything seemed all over the place and suddenly these two characters I’d been invested in and was kind of falling in love with like I had been in love with Audrey Rose and Thomas suddenly became different people. Emilia’s change in character made some sense, but Wrath’s was... I didn’t believe he’d do what he did given everything he’d said and done before. I’m sure KM has plans for these two, but right now, I feel like her Stalking Jack the Ripper series started out stronger than this series, which I sense is going to rely heavily on the following books to create a strong story.
