This is my second time reading this book. I read it back in middle school and sobbed and after finishing it today I sobbed again, in class this time. The ending is devastating but also beautiful
the fact that Joseph left with his dad to save Jack just shows how much he’s grown. And the fact that all he wanted was to be with Jupiter and he was so happy finally. He was smiling a lot and had ppl who believed in him and was excited about college and Jacks family was gonna adopt Jupiter for him. Everything was coming into place then his stupid father came and now he’s dead and he won’t see his daughter. The line that hurt was when Jack goes “when Joseph was supposed to be 16” that’s literally so heart breaking. And the fact that Jupiter calls him Jackie just like her dad did and he lets her 😭 and the funeral when the reverend said “where the hell were they” I WAS SOBBING I also hate Mr. Canton
I love this book so much but it’s so heartbreaking
