Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson
5.0
This book is wonderful and magical!
A book about magical books who have fun personalities. This story was extremely captivating and made me want to go into the Great Library and just spend all my time there surrounded by so man y books. This soft magic system, while I still don't know many of the rules or limitations, never felt like an easy fix to a hard solution and was not used in a "oh I am stuck here is some magic that I didn't know I had". Nathaniel used magic in a smart and planned out way, and the results felt earned instead of cheap.
The characters were fun and were easy to like. The romance was cute and did not take away from the main plot but I am glad it was there. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Nathaniel and Elizabeth and Silas. Even though we are told that Silas is a demon and cannot be trusted we cannot help but fall in love with his character.
