Second Chance Contract by M. Robinson
4.0

“If I stayed, I’d make her mine, and I couldn’t do that to them. Not after everything they had done for me.”

Billionaire bachelor Julian Locke came from absolutely nothing bouncing from one crappy foster home to another until he found his best friend Christian and his family to took him in like another son. Christian has a sister.
Autumn. And she was completely smitten by him from moment one.
Throughout the years, her love only grew more fierce and as she went from child to woman, he fell too. But was completely torn in two different directions.
It’s his best friends sister. The one girl that should be off limits.
She’s also part of the only family that ever gave a damn and loved him.
No secret relationships end well and over the course of a few years, and multiple heartbreaks - Julian ended it for good with Autumn for good.
Or so she thought.
10 years later they find themselves in each other’s path once again.

The banter is top notch. It was angsty and gutsy and you really can feel what both characters felt in the moment of anger, sorrow, fear, regret, and so forth.

Now. I know I’ll get haters for this but my least favorite character was the child…
I have four kids. My oldest the same age as the child in this book and he’d be mortified to calling his parents mommy and daddy at age 9/10 years old.
I know my son’s friends would never… at least not admitting to it or say it publicly. But the character felt more like a 6/7 year old to me. Even then… my seven year old would find it “cringe” to call us mamma and daddy.
So to read her character, it was … odd.
Sorry Capri.
