Graphic: Toxic relationship
Moderate: Ableism
There is some internalised ableism, though contained to certain scenes. It seems realistic to me and makes sense for the context and character, but I also don’t remember anything in the narrative reflecting on it, or mentioning ableism. You can’t fit everything into a book, but comparably, when there’s a toxic relationship , this is reflected upon as such. There’s many arguments to be made for why ableism isn’t mentioned, and many of them are good; but in the context of the world we live in (ableism is everywhere) imo to name it for what it is should’ve been done.
