This one is by far my favourite of the series, which actually came as I surprise to me as I am usually not a big fan of the ‘second chance romance’ type stories. I really liked how the book was split into before and after sections. This way we really get to see the development of the relationship between Max and Felix, without having to relay solely on flashbacks or the character’s internal dialogue to learn where things went wrong the first time. Felix’s character was great from the start; I loved his feisty attitude and cleverness. It took a bit longer to warm up to Max, especially since the before portion of this book is only from Felix’s POV. I can see why it was done this way and Max did grow on me by the end, but Felix definitely stole the show. As expected with this author, the dialogue is witty, snarky and so much fun. I loved the back and forth between Felix and Max, even when they were angry with each other. The lengthy separation between them, which I normally do not enjoy, worked really well here. This was a unique and entertaining book and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.
