This book was good. It really could have been great had the author changed one thing. The world building and character growth is because of something bad happening in the beginning. Rape and sexual assault. Those two things are really important to have in a book to bring awareness but I feel like the author did a bad job at adding it. This was normalized in the book. It was casually said and done and I know that this is what these characters would feel; a certain nonchalant way, but the author never redeemed it. It was always shown in a casual way which made the book go downhill and the awareness of sexual assault and harassment shown in a wrong way.
Now that that’s done lol I loved every other aspect of the book. It was easy to understand for a fantasy book and quick to read. I loved the romance as well, and the growth of characters.
