Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech
5.0

I know this book is read by middle graders, which I am not, but since I wanted something a little lighter I decided to pick it up. From around the middle I saw why so many adults recommended it despite not necessarily being the intended demographic.
It's just a beautiful story. It's simple and it hurts in a way that replicates life perfectly. The whole structure and the way it was told was cleverly put together to create the twists and the turns.
The ending, of course, ties it all together in the only way possible for this story. Again, beautiful, simple, and sad.
I recommend this to anyone of any age, to be honest. Probably starting from around 12ish and into adulthood - this book is timeless, and relevant to all.
I absolutely loved it.
