Historical fiction is not my genre generally anymore and especially the Spanish inquisition. Though it had a slow start, I really found myself thinking about the powers and choices at play by the end. Might be wrong timing plus splitting it due to library holds keeping me from liking this as much as I might at another time. If you like Shakespeare and can handle a slow start, I'd say give it a try if the premise intruiges you.

Graphic: Religious bigotry, War
