I loved the plot and characters, but felt there were major emotional beats missing and the composition of the book felt a bit sloppy. For example, an action was mentioned three separate times, each time different. For the emotional beats, there’s some spoilers.

The FMC is a young widow who befriends another, older widow. One day she goes to her house to find her in a hospital bed with a hospice nurse present (which, wouldn’t she, or her love interest who is an undertaker, have seen some sort of decline? Maybe. But it wasn’t mentioned). The older woman confirms she’s dying and we learn nothing about the emotional
Impact it has on FMC.

I really enjoyed the plot and the concept, just felt like I needed better editing and more emotional depth.
