Barbarian's Prize by Ruby Dixon

adventurous funny lighthearted medium-paced

3.0

Slowly continuing my IPB series journey, this one was fine, nothing super mind blowing but an easy relaxing read nonetheless.

Barbarian’s Prize follows Tiffany and Salukh. As one of the last two remaining humans not resonating and living with PTSD from her time on the bad aliens’ ship, Tiffany just wants to be left alone to work on her farming skills. Her days are not easy with all the attention, until Josie suggests the barbarians compete for a chance to escort Tiffany to the other cave. At that point, Tiffany and Salukh have formed a friendship, even though they didn’t resonate, he feels in his heart that she is his mate.

What I liked about this the most is when Salukh is talking to his khui (cootie) asking it to resonate, it was adorable! Even though Tiffany’s trauma is very real I thought Ruby did a good job representing the good and bad days. I also loved the setup for Josie and Haeden, it’s gonna have an enemies to lovers trope just based on their interactions, can’t wait!

Giving this 3 Stars!
