Yuyu Hakusho, Vol. 10 by Yoshihiro Togashi

4.0

This was a sad volume which I won't go into because of spoilers, but one thing I want to briefly discuss is Toguro's motivations. Toguro is honestly one of my favorite anime villains because he's a multifaceted individual with a solid, reasonable motivation for his actions. He doesn't want to fight time and possibly lose his strength to old age, so he decided to wish for an ageless, powerful body that is nearly unstoppable. It's such a simple motivation, but very human considering that aging is something that people often struggle with accepting, and seeing how this fear has warped Toguro is painful yet understandable. Despite adopting a demonic mindset and lust for power, Toguro is still human in his fears and desires.

But that's enough about that, I'm finally approaching the final battle of the tournament! This is a long arc, but I'm still pumped and ready to see it to the end!
