Yona of the Dawn, Vol. 1 by Mizuho Kusanagi
4.5
4.5 stars - So the only reason I can't wholey give this 5 stars is because I didn't like 90% of chapter 1. I went into this not knowing what to expect other than that it might be a romance and I know there are a few reviewers I follow who I have somewhat similar taste to that didn't love this but I also know so many that adore this - so I Was worried when I was starting chapter 1 and not really feeling it - and then Soo-won is her cousin and she's obsessed with him and im like - ew no? and for a good few chapters I was reading with the "oh no I'm going to be one of the people who dislikes this" - but decided its a short book so I should keep reading - but then the ending of chapter 1 happened and I'm so glad I kept reading.
Honestly Chapter 2 onwards just kept building on the intensity and heartbreak of chapter 1 and by the end of the volume I was just so intruiged by Yona & Hak and the journey they'll be going on especially since the first panel of chapter 1 seems to indicate a certain kind of story. I hope to get to the rest soon.
