And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie

My Rating : 5

'I don't know. I don't know at all. And that's what's frightening the life out of me. To have no idea....'

This book revolves around ten strangers who gets invited to an isolated island by their mysteriously generous host, and gets accused for a terrible crime. When people starts dying mysteriously, they realize there may be a murderer in their midst who might strike again.. and again..

I read this book years ago when i was obsessed with Murder mysteries ( I still am obsessed with them, so that's a different issue) and I re-read it again for a readathon and a buddy read. Boy oh boy did i miss Agatha's writing and her wicked way of torturing her readers with the plot twists! What I love about this book is the fact that they give you the main clue of why these people die and how they will die, BUT the actual mystery lies in the fact of figuring out who dies how! Some people might fight this off-putting since a big chunk of mystery is giving away at first, but I loved that part about this book. Even when you know all of them dies at the end, uncovering the truth keeps you glued to the lines.

When you read it for the first time, this might be a little confusing because of so many point of views, and the character introductions done at first. It can take some time to get the hang of who is who at first but you get used to it after few chapters. The ONLY let down for me in this book was the fact that it is a pretty short book, and the plot development is quick and to the point. If the mystery was dragged a little more, I would have liked it even better! Extra heart wrench time! Other than that, i can easily say that this book was the reason why I started reading horrors/thrillers/murder mysteries in the first place. The ending/the murderer is so psychotic, that it adds element to the book.

Trigger Warning : This book has plots revolving around murders, suicide, detailed descriptions, and psychotic behavior. If you are easily affected by these, DON'T READ THIS BOOK. Other than that, if you are someone who wants to dive into the world of murder mysteries and Agatha Christie, this book is the perfect start for you!
